Throwing Axes, Hatchets, Tomahawks
A New Twist on the old art of Throwing Axes!
We have been developing this game now for over 30 years of practical development experience!
If you have thrown long handle axes you come to understand that long handle axe throwing requires only 3 things.
- your personal required distance to the target,
- your throwing stance,
- Release the axe exactly the same way every throw
Once you have the above there is little challenge to throwing long handle axes!
Here are some of the extra challenges of throwing hatchets/tomahawks instead of long handle axes.
- Hatchets are thrown in sets of Three (like darts),
- Nine Styles of Throw,
- Five unique Games to play,
- scoring starts with hatchet sticks in the target face. at the center of the red circle target center is a plastic bottle cap held in position by a nail. We fill our bottle caps with baby powder so they give a highly visible explosion.
- 7 points hatchet blade touching the nail in the center of the cap
- 6 points for exploding a cap
- 5 points for cutting the cap
- 4 points for touching cap
- 3 points for in the red target
- 2 points for touching the red target
- 1 point for each hatchet/tomahawk stuck in the target
We have developed a handicap system so new players can beat the most skilled players.
This is a very challenging and fun sport where practice earns skills.

This display is made with Oak from the banisters from the Edmonton Courthouse that was built in 1912, and torn down in 1972.
